First off, thanks to everyone who fished and the sponsors of this event, as well as, the National Sponsors. Big thanks, to Advance Plumbing for the trophies and Anglers Marine for the Pizza, Soda and H2O.

The staff at Sutherland was great and the launch and parking conditions are not that bad. If anything, everyone is missing out by not getting in a trip soon to such a great fishery. What the heck, where else can you cast a bait right next to a cow and pull up a 3 lbr.

The chill in the air didn't seem to bother the fish or the teams and for the second time this year we had another back-to-back winning team.

Congratulations to Michael McLernon and Nick Adkins on their 1st Place finish with a total weight of 19.84 lbs. which included a 9.15 lb. kicker. They caught fish on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and the big girl fell for a split shot. They had a limit within an hour and culled up from there. With this win they have also entered the race for Angler of the Year with one event left.

2nd Place went to Cameron Smith and Chuck LaVigne who currently lead the Angler of the Year race. They had a limit of 14.97 with a 4.43 lb. big fish. Seems like no matter where these two go they always catch one on a frog and a rat. This event was no different. If they continue to fish hard at the next event they can seal the deal.

3rd Place went to newcomers Brian Butcher and Dan Price with 11.23 lbs. They had a solid bag but just needed that big bite.

4th Place finishers were Jesse Hinkley and Kyle Rogers with 10.93 lbs. They have kept themselves in the top 3 for the year also.

Rounding out the Top 5 is a team that always had a great attitude and drove in from Vegas overnight to try their luck. They caught a solid bag weighing 10.13 lbs.

The fishing was overall good and will only get better. This lake has always been overlooked by the regular teams for years, but not the clubs. The facilities are good with restrooms and a very nice and clean Picnic Area. If anything, bring the kids up to see the wildlife, but do be safe.

Time to go for now, but I would like to thank the 3 new teams, Gary Taylor (Weigh master), my wife Heather for serving up the grub and taking the photos and my lil' one Ashlee for checking the fellows in.

Our last event of the 2011 season will be at El Capitan on June 25th. Hope to see you there and if there are any questions, please give me a call.

Payback Changes for the 2011 Season!

For the first twenty years of our history we focused on paying very deep. Times changed and the focus of many became how much could the top couple of team earn at each event. Well, times have again changed and value is back in style! In 2011 we will pay 1 out of every 3 boats! That’s right, with 30 paid entries we will pay 10 places! That is 4 more checks paid than what is paid with the 1 in 5 boats that is currently in use by just about everyone. In addition, a higher percentage will be paid at each event while still keeping the Team Classic monies in tact!

More Checks and More Cash Paid to More Places . . .
